Welcome to Altitude Martial Arts.  We are thrilled that you have chosen to train with us.  Here is what to expect when you arrive for your first class.

Students should wear comfortable, athletic clothing and are encouraged to bring a water bottle.  We offer private changing rooms and a bottle filler station for your convenience.

The front desk is happy to answer any questions and help get you oriented upon arrival.

Personal belongings can be stored in the cubbies (if you have never done martial arts before this includes shoes!)  Have a seat in the lobby and instructors will invite you out to the mats when your class begins.

My First Class

Hi, I’m Henry Zinkon the owner and lead instructor at Altitude Martial Arts.  From personal experience, I understand just how intimidating it can be walking into a school for the first time.

At four years old, I began my Taekwondo training and attended my first class.  I enjoyed the session right up until the instructors ended the class blowing bubbles for us to kick and punch (an activity that most young kids find to be fun).  Instead, I got scared, promptly sat down on the floor, and cried.  However, my mom took me back to the next class, and the next, and the next.

This was how my Taekwondo career began and now I am excited to open my own school and help you begin your own martial arts journey.  So don’t be intimidated or nervous – together we will face those bubbles!
